~Historic First”: Historic Everett Theater Hosts Reality Age Theatrical Technology~
The 9th Annual Christmas Spectacular will bring new technology to the venerable Historic Everett Theater on Saturday,
December 5, 2009. Although the a primary goal of this show is to support the Volunteers of America Food Bank during
the holiday season, the show’s producer, the Dorothy Jayne Foundation, has something new in store for the audience
this year.
Thanks to the support of Verizon, Puget Sound Video and www.Battlecell.com, the theater audience as well as those in
“cyberspace” will be able to watch a LIVE! WebCast of the show. Now add your cell phone to the webcast and ‘presto’
you have Text Voting available for all!
“America’s Got Talent” ballroom dance semifinalists “Erik” Linder and “Rickie” Taylor, hailing from the Dorothy Jayne
Studio in Everett, will join producer Chris Clay from New York. Together they will help the theater audience and all those
tuned in to the LIVE! WebCast throughout the county to TEXT VOTE the winners in the Christmas Spectacular’s “High
School Holiday Music Competition.” For those watching the LIVE! WebCast , it will be similar to “America’s Got Talent”
YOUR CELL PHONE IS YOUR BALLOT in this holiday music competition. But – Watch out! All votes are not equal.
The votes of those who purchase tickets and bring food to the theater will count much more those voting from their cars,
homes or elsewhere.
Over the past 9 years the show has attracted not only loyal artists but a loyal audience as well that brings food to the
theater in support of the Volunteers of Amercia Food Bank.
This year the show will feature Ray Stephanson (Everett Mayor); Master of Ceremonies, Brian Tracey (past KING 5
TV Evening Magazine; Ride-The-Ducks-Of –Seattle); Dehner Franks (Las Vegas pianist/song writer), Jack Klitzman
(horn player extraordinaire/band leader), Shelley Logan (Snohomish County Choir); Carl Kelley (Los Angeles Music
Awards), Ksenia Popova (Metropolitan Opera Auditions) and Chris Clay (New York Broadway, 2,000 performances
of 42nd Street), Richard Giles (Everett High School Color Guard) and even the Children’s Museum Singers.
The performers bring you a heart felt show that not only celebrates Christmas and the holiday season but also
healthcare heroes highlighting the significance of those who will serve in the new $500,000,000 Providence Regional
Medcial Center Tower that will open in 2011. Furthermore, in the words of Brian Tracey, the show has developed into
an emotional salute to all those abroad as well as at home “that sacrifice their lives so that we can live our lives the
way we choose”.
The price of admission is $15 + 5 non-perishable food items per person. There will be both a Matinee (4pm) and
evening performance (8pm). The doors open 1 hour before show time. The Historic Everett Theater 2911 Colby Ave.
Please bring food and give generously to the Volunteers of America Food Bank.
